Chinese Almanac Astrology April 30 - May 1, 2015

Hi Folks,

Current Lunar Hexagram: 16 Yu: Readying

THURSDAY April 30, Fire Rat 12
Daily Hexagram 24 Fu: Return, The Stride
The inevitable return of everything to its origin, "favorable for going forward", routine work with calm, clear intention brings fruition. Medical treatments, new shoes or clean sheets, banking, repairing property, all things like: mindfully storing up for winter time.

Lunar Hexagram: 49 Ge: Peel Away

FRIDAY May 1, Fire Ox 13
Daily Hexagram 27 Yi - Jaws, The Thread
Do you see the Lunar Hexagram shift; we're entering a period of molting, of transformation. Today observes how you conduct your appetite. "It's important to be discreet and appropriate when expressing personal ambition so that others join in and the fruits of your efforts may be enjoyed." LM Group effort, orchestrated celebration, traditional music, reunions, enhancing thresholds, families and businesses are enhanced. Avoid confrontation or travel alone.

May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.

Chinese Almanac Astrology April 23 - 26, 2015

Wonderful people,

Current Lunar Hexagram: 43 Guai, Divide

THURSDAY April 23, Earth Snake 5
Daily Hexagram 48 Jing - The Well, The Ladel
A bright day with a "midas touch". Starting a business, digging foundations, burying the dead - all auspicious. With appropriate conduct, sturdy and confidence steps will take advantage of the opportunities presented today.

FRIDAY April 24, Metal Horse
Daily Hexagram 57 Sun - Gentle/Yielding, The Ox Boy
Favorable to subordinate is the name of this weekend. "Comply not negotiate" Ming would say. Best to retreat and keep it light. Stay at home and "economize".

SATURDAY April 25, Metal Goat 7
Daily Hexagram Consult the Oracle, The Maiden
Sidestep the invitation to gossip and continue to retreat. Tend to your  own self-reflection, make offerings for your ancestors and consult the oracle. We are alive because of those before us.

SUNDAY April 26, Water Monkey 8
Daily Hexagram 32 Heng - Constancy, The Void
Cautious activity and rest. Tend to your family connections and take good care of your health. Our natural capacity for generosity, adaptability and sensitivity is due to continuity, due to the experience of those before us.

May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.

Almanac Astrology update: April 17-19, 2015

Wonderful people,

This weekend walks quickly from Fall to Winter, with Spring thinking about it, on Sunday.

Friday is useful for planning and investing in home, family, business affairs. Work with familiar groups or alone. Highlighting the experience of the relationships, continuous tending, is where the qi is located today, not in getting big things done. It's the autumn preparations sort of idea.

Saturday is a day of completion, in the continuous sort of way. Winter hibernation, tending to oneself, like sleeping at night...in order to be nourished and digest life properly.

Then, the first light of Spring on Sunday, might feel like too early in the morning.  Move forward adaptably, with honor and the willingness to be selective.

May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.

Sacred Mountian

  • wake at night from a dream bardo with no hands no feet
... in the bardo of meditation nothing in particular just Space ... notice in the bardo of birth/death no body but Light

    warmed by winter sun
drifting with sleeves that skim the water
    floating on changing winds
climb the sacred mountain of rock
In memory of Ming Liu & all sentient beings in Bardo!
The term "bardo" refers to the state of existence intermediate between two lives on earth. According to Tibetan tradition, after death and before one's next birth, when one's consciousness is not connected with a physical body, one experiences a variety of phenomena.
For the prepared and appropriately trained individuals the bardo offers a state of great opportunity for liberation, since transcendental insight may arise with the direct experience of reality.

Gratefully Grieving

Dear friends,

Three nights ago I was catching up with a good friend
In a Tapas restaurant in Petaluma
Waiting for some tight and trippy music at the Mystic.

Ming passed sometime during the sweet potato soup
& arugula, almond and feta cheese salad.
I didn't know it at the time
But that night I was dancing for his transition;
And I just thought that I had a sore body
From a landscaping project.

Gratefully Grieving

So sudden this death,
And yet so appropriate and nourishing was his attitude and teaching about it all.

My mind leads me often into curiosity.
How to continue connecting to Ming's teaching,
Bridge to the sophistication humans are capable of.

What I didn't anticipate is calling us all forth to step into a new alignment with each other,
To honor the teaching that is and will always be our human experience.
It is after all, the year of the Wood Goat, to herd up IS the current offer.

Ming's death is another rebirth again soon,
He holds this continuously for us,

"To be told I am mortal was not a surprise."
He holds this continuously for us,
Especially as ancestor.

Genuine gratitude I feel for OUR connection as well;
Influences of Ming's lineage passed along to us here on this planet.

Thank your for all of your sympathies, I retune them for your experience as well.

In resilient relations...
Jamie

Ming

Posted on Facebook by DYC:

Just a minute or two past 9pm PST on April 9th, 2015, Liu Ming took his final breath of this incarnation.
As he is well known for saying: "The only cause of death is birth."
His influence is impossible to measure, yet for those who knew him impossible not to feel.

Ming's Dao De Jing translation and commentary - Chapter 32
DYC will publish Ming's take on the Ddj this year.

Have you noticed your generosity lately?

Herd Almanac

What happens when we herd up,
Align ourselves with community?
Especially this year, together,
We have the opportunity to "make the world beautiful".
Notice this, and give spreading-a-few-more-smiles a try...

Ming's blog is no longer offered due to pervasive stage 4 cancer.
We are grateful and we grieve.
We are grateful and we grieve.
We are grateful and we grieve.

May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.
