Year: WOOD GOAT 4713
The Wood Goat, a little girl kid, lends a soft grounded context for us this year; Still very new, maturing quickly and playfully, sincere and disciplined. Herd up, slough off what no longer serves your appetite, compost and go fresh.

Lunar Month: WOOD ROOSTER
"Wood Roosters are idealistic, quarrelsome and insightful. For what seems to them to be no reason, family and sometimes friends abandon them. Their outspoken quality is both a blessing (amusing) and a curse (off-putting). Their fortune is uneven. They often receive the ‘debts of the ancestors’, family debts and congenital illnesses. Though they are likely to suffer from chronic minor illnesses or handicaps, they are long lived." LM Notes
Yin Descends

Qi Node: 16 Autumn Equinox
Yin and Yang Equality
"When the qi node Autumn Equinox arrives annual Yin qi is established. Day and night are equal. During this period the environment grows ever more yin and is characterized by a cool, dry wind (metal element). It is one of four annual pivots that rectify the annual qi. Yin and yang are equal - day and night are equal. Storehouses are filling up and the work of harvest is nearly complete. There is a pleasant stillness.
During this qi node qi is best at 6pm. Neigong should be done indoors morning and evening in short sessions. When yin/yang equality is reached and yin is about to take charge, it is best to eat food that has a higher jing/qi concentration. Breakfast can be eaten a little bit later than in spring/summer but is should be hearty. Do not eat at all after 7pm. All meals should be experienced in a quite and undistracted setting. You needn't be a hermit, but avoid being social at every meal." LM The Way of Three Treasures

Lunar Hexagram 22 Bi: Ornament
Bi is about the significance and use of luxury. It is art and ornamentation and the power of elegance. It is how simple design can make a common event (marriage or funeral) into a beautiful ceremony (a place to go). True beauty is, in fact, an articulate expression of inner value. In properly ornamenting even a small thing (event), it is important that its inner value is expressed. The cowrie shell is the symbol of beauty." LChanging: Zhouyi

WEDNESDAY September 30, Yin Earth Rooster 18
Hexagram: 6 Song: Disputing
Lunar Lodge: The Chariot
Solar Indicator: Design
Pauses are highly auspicious today. Nourishing and forming alliances can help build bridges as the water changes course today. Lift off just enough to get out the the way, yet be available to organize, plan, educate, discuss emerging potential. Go for a walk during the day and stretch what you haven't in a while.

Lunar Hexagram 26 Da Chu: Great Store
"Da Chu represents acquisition, accumulation and abundance. The term is associated with the domestication and husbandry of herd animals and the transformation of the untamed wilderness (feudal states/war) into agricultural prosperity (central government/peace). It is the river silt that becomes rich farmland.

"'Eating far from home' means attending a great sacrificial offering made by your clan or a thanksgiving celebration attended by family/friends. 'Crossing the great river' refers to making great and timely progress in worldly affairs." LChanging: Zhouyi

THURSDAY October 1, Yang Metal Dog 19
Hexagram: 47 Kun: Beset
Lunar Lodge: The Horn
Solar Indicator: Divide
Keep the clutch in again this day, tend to the pack, all systems need a little tuning. Sleep, dream, cuddle up and watch a movie. Routine work done thoroughly and well, like sweeping the front door, will welcome opportunity. Engage relationships, communities and the forming of new potential. Engage your own self-cultivation, generosity and open heart.

FRIDAY October 2, Yin Metal Pig 20
Hexagram: 64 Weiji: Not yet accross
Lunar Lodge: The Neck
Solar Indicator: Full
"Expect to be unfulfilled at first and then later satisfied. The old has not quite turned into the new." LChanging: Zhouyi
"This is an optimum day for education, preparation, polishing, gathering resources and firming up plans. Confidence grows as the right time and necessary resources are now part of the vision. The qi is forming patterns and remaining in the channels. Practice and disciplined cultivation bring confidence. The prince (yang) is gaining support. Discipline in small matters succeeds. True confidence requires no aggression. Though nothing needs to be done the natural maturation of strength occurs." LM Notes/Full

SATURDAY October 3, Yang Water Rat 21
Hexagram: 40 Jie: Release
Lunar Lodge: The Root
Solar Indicator: Level
"Nowhere to go means you have no particular goal or purpose because the freedom to choose is new. You can let things come and go, that is, just let them open up by themselves. After every period of restraint there is a release (southwest). Inhibition naturally thaws like ice in spring. Auspices: Favorable for cautious, positive or progressive movement. For the best results keep your actions small and focused - others join you to expand the possibilities." LChanging: Zhouyi  Let things unfold on their own today. There is an emerging flow beneath us all, the roots of our very existence, not unfamiliar to us. Let it guide the boat today while you educate yourself, consult with oracles and physicians, make offerings and generously comply.

I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.

Chinese Almanac Astrology September 27 - 29, 2015 - 8th FULL MOON

Today, Sunday, is the 8th Full Moon (and mid-autumn festival or moon festival).

Yang is spent, and Yin is now on its march to full maturity which peaks in Winter.
The moon festival is a time to embrace the imminent arrival of supreme Yin. This year on 8/15, we will see the earth cover the moon from the sun as though Yin is being a bit shy and timid. Take a cup of tea, and venture out on the evening of the full moon (Sunday, Sept 27th) and catch the reflection of this shy, yet unknowably strong and resilient Yin (moon) in your cup. Embrace the changing of the guard (yang to yin) in your own experience and drink the moon into your heart, welcoming her.

Ming says,
"In the full 8th moon (the biggest of the year) [medieval Chinese] literati toast (autumn tea or wine) the moon (a goddess) and often spend the night (yin) drifting in open boats on calm lakes (yin) writing poetry, inspired by the moon (yin). On this occasion special 'moon cakes' are also popular (filled with sweet lotus seed paste – to represent the silvery-white moon).'"

Good auspice is directly related to continuity, convention and not innovation. It is not auspicious for funerals/burials or marriages. It is a dangerous day for travel and/or medical treatments." Their is the capacity today to release what is considered chronic and to recalibrate the story. Open your heart. " Auspicious for medical treatments, building and buying new property. It is an especially good day to get married. It is favorable fro divination, signing contracts, romance/courtship and all forms of partnership. Good auspice is especially related to festive group events, banqueting, family gatherings and/or community celebrations. IT is an excellent day to take office (begin a new job).

TUESDAY September 29, Yang Earth Monkey 17
Hexagram: 46 Sheng: Ascending

One we are accustomed to this gentle, floating feeling, it can take us to a deeper sense of life, beyond the usual dualistic assessments - even beyond the limits of Fate." LChanging: Zhouyi
"Good auspice relies heavily on inclusiveness, follow custom (manners), social convention and guileless loyalty. Good fortune comes through the natural 'chain of command'. Misfortune is directly related to breaking taboos, ignoring family, conventions and/or defaulting on commitments of any kind. Lie still, move slowly and methodically and the snake won't strike." Lunar Hexagram 20 Guan: Observance
"The Zhouyi says that a ruler must have Guan, a bird's eye view-contemplative composure, even if the situation is not supportive. Guan describes the proper and improper ways of maintaining tradition through authentic observance, personal deportment and meditation.

Careful observance of one's relationship to the environment (astrogeomancy) provides the education needed to sustain order, indeed, life itself. Dynamic observation of this sort is a full time job, as subtle adjustments to protocol must be made constantly." LM Changing: Zhouyi

THURSDAY September 24, Yin Water Rabbit 12
Hexagram: 32 Heng: Constancy
Lunar Lodge: The Well
Solar Indicator: Destroy
Today is utterly a day for generous contribution, release of expectation and maturation of the common good. Cleanse anything and everything, make fengshui adjustments and practice routine work with discipline and a humble attitude. "It is in the observance of what is natural that we find constancy; and that naturalness includes generosity, flexibility and sensitivity." LM Changing: Zhouyi

Lunar Hexagram 22 Bi: Ornament

FRIDAY September 25, Yang Wood Dragon 13
Hexagram: Consult the Oracle
Lunar Lodge: The Ghost
Solar Indicator: Danger
Bow down today, though you may have a time of directing the youthful energy, bow down. A calibration is happening, clutch in, compost and digest what is no longer needed with an elegant nod. The anxious youth is seated next to grandpa, and they meet half way, teaching each other patience and adaptability. Consult the oracle for more specific advise, bless your ancestors and bury the dead.

SATURDAY September 26, Yin Wood Snake 14
Hexagram: 57 Xun: Compliance
Lunar Lodge: The Willow
Solar Indicator: Complete
A bunch of quotes again today since they speak volumes.
"Xun describes the good fortune found through compliance with the wisdom gained from proper divination (counsel). Calculation (divinatory technique) and compliance to the outcome is, in this case, the road to success. When we absorb and comply with the spiritual wisdom (wind) found in divination (the voice of the ancestors) success is easy." LM Changing: Zhouyi
"It is especially auspicious for seclusion and the composing of memorials. It is favorable to make offerings and practice divination. It is fruitful on this day to fast, enter retreat, practice meditation and receive spiritual initiation and/or ordination (lineage). It is ideal for funerals/burials and the complete resolution of the unsettled dead (exorcism). Contraindicated activity: It is not auspicious for marriage (makes widows). Do not indulge in lawsuits (as it will ruin 3 generations)." LM Notes: The Willow

I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.

WEDNESDAY September 23, Water Tiger 11
Hexagram: 50 Ding: Tri-pod Vessel
Lunar Lodge: The Trio
Solar Indicator: Maintain
Not unlike yesterday, there is both great capacity and the need for humility. Generosity offers wisdom, tonifies emerging traditions and cements alliances. Impulses of all sorts may make the day uneven, so focus on editing, studying, securing routines, qi conservation and composting what is no longer necessary. Pressing forward may backfire aggressively, consult the oracle, clean house and initiate group oriented, well planned business.

Qi Node: 15 White Dew
Yin Descends
"White Dew qi node shows the shifting relationship between collapsing yang and ascendant yin. When yin 'descends' it is actually taking charge - yin style.
In the morning white dew is the harbinger of change. The clouds are high in the sky. The growing west wind is cool. Dew is fresh yin qi - a fragile, glimpse of snow. The growing yin almost goes unnoticed. As the last of the summer qi subsides, a cool west wind (qi) appears and the season of autumn begins and develops. Geese migrate south and fall harvest continues in earnest.
White Dew is a time of clarity and stillness. During this period the environment grows ever more yuin and is characterized by a cool, dry wind (metal element). During this qi node the environmental qi is best at 5pm. Neigong should be done indoors. Do not eat at all after 7pm.
In the imagination of the poets and hermits of China it is a time of year when white nymphs are offering inspiration. Unlike their superiors, the Jade Lads and Ladies, these nymphs inhabit the sea and forest, not the Celestial realms. White dew, a rare or first form of frost of the year, is the signal of their presence. They show us white dew to remind us to prepare for the arrival of the Celestials (yin)." LM The Way of the Three Treasures

TUESDAY September 22, Yin Metal Ox 10
Hexagram : 28 Da Guo: Excess
Lunar Lodge : The Beak
Solar Indicator : Settle
There is a caution in the wind today. Move forward only where discipline, tradition and preparation allow your response to adapt appropriately even through eccentricity or unusual means. "Don't set your hopes too high. Expect setbacks. Things go well despite the odd." LM Changing: Zhouyi  Consult the oracle and comply. Group efforts and supporting the underdog smooth out the auspices; a good day to go with the flow.

I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.

An excellent day for divination and tending family. Seduction is at foot, yet the real adventures lay comfortably within tried and true experiences, routine work, industry and disciplined actions. Allow others to integrate and enhance success, just don't let the bat of an eye derail your trajectory.

THURSDAY September 17, Yang Fire Monkey 5

Today's mixed auspices both support a fluidity and ease of tasks, shoring up, retreat from any fast-track and engaging with activities of planning and preparation for the winter, soon on the horizon. Meditation, qigong and medical treatments, repairing and remodeling are all auspicious today. Routine business, not speculation. The Monkey may think that too responsible and rebel while Shut accomplishes nothing because sometimes a reboot is required, a new round through the cycle and that needs to start somewhere, first by turning off. Go about your day, it'll unfold.

FRIDAY September 18, Yin Fire Rooster 6
Hexagram : 3 Zhun: Sprouting
Lunar Lodge : The Mound
Solar Indicator : Design
Today offers a pause on individual process and opens where the collaboration is. It points to light rain in the autumn. Education and compliance, passing along knowledge between generations and building families are all auspicious. "Individual efforts, no matter how vigorous, do not amount to much. In this situation inexperience demands education before successful alliances are made. Power demands education before successful alliances are made. Power is found in following the customs that unite older and younger generations (even the living and the dead)." LM Changing: Zhouyi

Lunar Hexagram 58 Dui: Pleasuring
"Generally auspicious and associated with a light-handed approach to things. It is not how you find pleasure, but how you express it that will determine the longevity of your happiness.
LM Changing: Zhouyi

SATURDAY September 19, Yang Earth Dog 7
Hexagram : 27 Yi: Jaws
Lunar Lodge : The Stomach

Solar Indicator : Divide
"On this day progress is envisioned but we learn that pausing and even loss may be a part of the process. Though moving forward is immanent, there is a shedding of skin on this day that puts a pause in the forward progress." LM Notes: Divide  Be generous and engage in routine work,  encourage emerging trends of wisdom, ask for what you are due and release the rest. Do not be confrontational, just shed the inessentials, cut your hair and take a load to the thrift store; share.

SUNDAY September 20, Yin Earth Boar 8
Hexagram : 24 Fu: Return
Lunar Lodge : The Watchers
Solar Indicator : Full
"This is an optimum day for education, preparation, polishing, gathering resources and firming up places...Practice and disciplined cultivation bring confidence." LM Notes: Full  "It is auspicious to stay home (familiar people/places), study, enter retreat, initiate austerities and make offerings to the dead. It is wise to postpone everything proactive (marriage, building, funerals, burials). Medical treatments on this day will complicate illness..." LM Notes: The Watchers  Nothing new, just back to the drawing board, where we always return, part of the cycle of things.

I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.

Chinese Almanac Astrology September 14, 2015

Here she comes
Gentle descent
Leaves fall

Lunar Hexagram 20 Guan: Obervance
"The Zhouyi says that a ruler must have Guan, a bird's eye view-contemplative composure, even if the situation is not supportive. Guan describes the proper and improper ways of maintaining tradition through authentic observance, personal deportment and meditation.

Careful observance of one's relationship to the environment (astrogeomancy) provides the education needed to sustain order, indeed, life itself. Dynamic observation of this sort is a full time job, as subtle adjustments to protocol must be made constantly." LM Changing: Zhouyi

MONDAY September 14, Yin Water Snake 2
Daily Hexagram 21 Shihe: Biting
Lunar Lodge - The Roof
Solar Indicator - Complete
Not such a great day for travel, but fortification of the home turf. Things may turn on a dime today and appropriately so. "Cautious yet abrupt change...When we resort to harsh punishments we must do so cautiously - even humbly...Uncontrolled impulses lead to injustice and loss of unity." LM Changing: Zhouyi
Sincerity today, and the more light-hearted, the better.  "Wisdom approaches and withdrawing succeeds...the way of perfecting power is austerity and restraint." LM Notes: Complete Face yourself in the direction of the highest value of humanity and leap gracefully, there is deep routed reciprocity available.  "It is auspicious to stay home, repair walls (security), remodel, take tonics and comply with superiors. It is favorable for medial treatments, exercise and eating well. It is favorable to raise roof beams and rafters (begin new construction). It is auspicious for family gatherings at home. Alliances and collaborations come to fruit as good "luck". LM Notes: The Roof

Chinese Almanac Astrology September 11 - 13, 2015

Here she comes
Gentle descent
Leaves fall

Year: WOOD GOAT 4713
The Wood Goat, a little girl kid, lends a soft grounded context for us this year; Still very new, maturing quickly and playfully, sincere and disciplined. Herd up, slough off what no longer serves your appetite, compost and go fresh.

Lunar Month: WOOD MONKEY 7
Wood Monkey Month
"Wood Monkeys are versatile, adventurous and ambitious. Hurt by uncaring parents or orphaned in childhood, they tend to live unsettled lives. They often work at more than one job and live in more than one place - and have an untrusting character. Their ambitions can land them in lawsuits or in prison. A strong mentor or partner can release them from some obstructions. Strong in their youth, they decline in old age plagued by sleep disorders, congenital heart disorders and psychosomatic complications. They are prone to madness and depression.

Qi Node: 14 Heat Ends
Yin Seduces, Metal
"The End of Heat qi node is just that. It is the end of what the Chinese call 'late summer'. In this qu node autumn winds, though still slightly damp, turn slowly drier. Summer's yang is completely exhausted and harvest can begin in earnest.
It is common for the body to feel slightly 'heavy' at this time of year because the fluids and qi are slowing down in anticipation of the Dry and Cold. Harvesting is the main qi pattern. Gather in your resources, plan for the less productive months ahead.
What we harvest now is what we will rely on during the months ahead.
The dreams and aspirations of spring/summer must now be edited with sound and practical strategies.
During this qi node qi is best at 4 pm. Neigong should be practiced in short sessions in morning and afternoon. Afternoon naps are recommended (10 - 25 min). Plan to be at home most evenings. Party's over, time to clean house and tighten up the protocols." LM The Way of the Three Treasures

Qi Node: 15 White Dew
Yin Descends
"White Dew qi node shows the shifting relationship between collapsing yang and ascendant yin. When yin 'descends' it is actually taking charge - yin style.

Lunar Hexagram 60 Jie: Juncture
"Jie is about the step-by-step progress of human life-represented by the segments of a bamboo plant. Progress that is secured in increments will hold and make a base for future progress. Saved resources provide future prosperity. Thoughtful words change hearts.

Knowing when to apply restraint is a very important element in any success. The auspices and patterns of Heaven are found in the mantic study of time (astrology) and place (fengshui). Divining the right juncture of time and place brings natural success. Jie advises us to calculate and interpret the natural rhythm in the ebb and flow of celestial qi as a guide to action." LM Zhouyi

FRIDAY  September 11, Yang Metal Tiger 29
Daily Hexagram 36 Mingyi: Pheasant Call
Lunar Lodge - The Oxboy
Solar Indicator - Maintain
Today begins the Lunar pattern of The Oxboy, Maiden and Void. During these three days, it is most auspicious to press in the clutch on "important" activities and progress. Confucius believed in "the notion that the reward for integrity is simply having integrity, not necessarily getting your own way." LM Changing: Zhouyi    The indicators are also mixed. Having a relaxed and adaptable attitude, participating in routine work, and responding with integrity, makes success available today. Meditation, retreat, recovery, focus and economizing are productive activities. Tap into the powerful generosity of the Tiger day, group recovery, conservation and small gains. "When integrity demands action, be cautious and prepared to fail. The situation is unfavorable because the clear warnings of doom are being ignored by the powerful." LM Changing: Zhouyi

SATURDAY September 12, Yin Metal Rabbit 30
Daily Hexagram 25 Wu Wang: No Expectations
Lunar Lodge - The Maiden
Solar Indicator - Destroy
There is a dearness to the day, luck even, for those able to relax and let go. "Wisdom takes the shape of recognizing the limits inherent in the cycles of time." LM Notes: Destroy  "Relax plans, open up and let go of goals. When Wu Wang is divined, good fortune is based on being free of fear and expectation but ready to act if an easy opportunity arrises. Do not over fucs on goals and gains and you can avoid disaster. Just let things happen naturally." LM Changing: Zhouyi

SUNDAY September 13, Yang Water Dragon 1
Daily Hexagram 17 Sui: Pursuit
Lunar Lodge - The Void
Solar Indicator - Danger
Withdraw and rest. " An important aspect of successful leadership is knowing when to subordinate and who or what to follow." LM Changing: Zhouyi  Take a moment, or all day, to consider your roots, the people and experiences you come from. Simply reflect, without pressing or judging. Let calibration happen by tending to home and family. "Doing only what needs to be done is best." LM Notes: Danger  Protect your children. Do not marry, bury the dead or have medical treatments on this day. "Extramarital affairs begun on this day will eventually ruin your family, reputation and health." LM Notes: The Void

I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.
