INDICATORS

YEAR of the FIRE ROOSTER 4715
(Native Yin Metal) Analytical
"Charged: critical, intelligent, confident, alert, social, dignified, articulate, forthright, spontaneous, inspired, financially adept, challenging, meticulous and tidy.

Deplete: volatile, rude, proud, argumentative, blunt, vulgar, tactless, close-minded, hypochondriac, vain, snobby, aloof, harshly competitive and fanatical.

Image: The Rooster talked about in Chinese Astrology is well known to the Chinese as the ordinary version of the phoenix. This bird is an ancient amulet used to ward off the 5 poisonous creatures (snake, scorpion, spider, centipede and toad). The Rooster (not hen) is sacrificed only at rituals requiring oaths (trustworthy). The most familiar image is, of course, the Rooster lording over hens in the yard and dueling to the death in a cockfight - extrovert extraordinaire. There is the precision of its sharp beak (intellectual), the powerful wings (competitive) and the call to sun at dawn and dusk (eloquence). Basic materials become luxury items when chosen by the Rooster eye. Roosters collect books and documents.

Fire Rooster (1837, 1897, 1957, 2017, 2077) 'Solitary Rooster'
Fire Roosters are skillful, sensual and restless characters. They are excellent craftspeople and have a strong ambition to escape the limitations of poverty and class. They flip-flop from iron self-confidence to hopelessness and back. Though apparently strong willed they collapse in the face of difficulties. Their unapologetic, anti-social attitudes will complicate their relationships and dim their fortunes. Their sexuality is ferocious and embarrassment unknown to them. They often carry the burden of unresolved ancestral (congenital) illnesses and are haunted by the unsettled dead."

LUNAR MONTH: YIN FIRE GOAT (1907, 1967, 2027, 2087) ‘Solitary Goat’
Fire Goats are high-strung, moody and successful. They have great good fortune due to previous causes and find it easy to set goals and reach them. They always live in prosperity and comfort. Argumentative and self-assured, they often offend others and leave themselves emotionally stranded. Their overactive minds often cause them to abandon beneficial situations. Male sibling relationships are difficult and they usually have children late in life. Their moodiness is associated with exhaustion caused by nagging, minor chronic illnesses and kidney disorders.

QI NODE: 10 Summer Solstice
Yang Rules
"At Summer Solstice there is the longest day (yang) and the shortest night (Yin) of the year. The sun is at its zenith, directly above us at noon. It is the Yang peak of the year. Activity is highly motivated. Summer Solstice is one of four annual pivots that rectify annual qi.

"The Yang growth, that began in spring, peaks and turns towards its inevitable decline. Flowers blossom and many fruits and vegetables ripen but this explosion of splendor is a gesture of survival (launching seeds). The force of Yang, if not tempered, will destroy rather than ripen. The Chinese character for summer depicts a farmer at rest (idle) - growth in this part of summer needs no nursing. Yang is raging on its own.

"During this qi node the environmental qi is best at Noon. When you wake, practice neigong facing due south. Do not overexert yourself; but sweating is not harmful. Chew well. During the day eat two or three small meals, rest (nap) after lunch, drink green and chrysanthemum tea and in the evening enjoy a light soup. Guard the heart from strain by expressing your feelings, singing, dancing and socializing. Before bed bucket bathes with a final cold rinse. Go to sleep just after dark. Rest, relax, travel (vacation by sea or high mountain), exercise modestly and do not get burned by the sun. Do not work or rest directly in the sun of midday!"

LM The Way of Three Treasures

33 Dun: Pig
“There will be modest gains. Do not be overly concerned about limits and restrictions. Stay put and you will grow strong. Success is acquired gradually but reward is inevitable."

SUNDAY June 25, Yin Water Goat 2
Hexagram Consult the Oracle
Lunar Mansion: The Watchers/Cock
Solar Indicator: Divide

Take a chill pill today. Stay home, take care of yourself, tidy up and release what no longer serves you and your family. Avoid financial commitments and consult the oracle.

“It is auspicious to stay home (familiar places / people), study, enter retreat, initiate austerities and make offerings to the dead. It is wise to postpone everything proactive (marriage, building, funeral, burials).
“It is not auspicious to be industrious in any way (building will bring loss). All positive events that occur today will ultimately have negative results (marriage will end in disloyalty and divorce). Medical treatments on this day will complicate existing illness - turn acute into chronic (possibly bring on premature death). Confrontation or battle on this day will lead to injury or death.”

LM Notes: The Watchers

"Holding back on this day is related to deeper self-reflection, education of all sorts and consulting with experts and elders - rather than forward action. It is not about mature reluctance or cowardice but about shedding inessentials."

LM Notes: Divide

MONDAY June 26, Yang Wood Monkey 3
Hexagram 32 Heng: Constancy
Lunar Mansion: The Net/Crow
Solar Indicator: Full

Use the adaptable nature of the day to support constancy...

Heng is very favorable for carrying out routine work. Maintaining and practicing what is durable in life brings good fortune."
LM Changing: Zhouyi 32 Heng

"To consult a physician and consult oracles (divination of all kinds) will bring clarity. It is a good day for industry (labor/gardening = long term wealth), building (restores clarity) and burying the dead (enhance intuition). It is inauspicious to take anything for granted. It is inauspicious for revolution, confrontation, breaking taboos, neglecting responsibilities or travel (someone at home dies/gets sick)."

LM Notes: The Net

TUESDAY June 27, Yin Wood Rooster 4
Hexagram 50 Ding: Tri-pod Vessel
Lunar Mansion: The Beak / Monkey
Solar Indicator: Level

Be cautious and graceful today. Mind your manners, engage discipline and allow the mechanisms of life to be mysterious. You never know what may show up, especially when you're observant, kind and open-hearted.

"It is a time of education and great spiritual and material success. Don’t rush. Your superiors notice you. Opportunity is abundant. Alliances are offered to you on all sides.”
LM Changing: Zhouyi  50 Ding

"It bodes well to follow superiors, practice austerity and/or pool resources with others. It is a good day to sincerely comply with divination and maintain taboos meticulously.

"It is inauspicious to push forward, be industrious or initiate new ventures. Revolution or demanding idealistic justice on this day will be catastrophic."

LM Notes: The Beak

WEDNESDAY June 28, Yang Fire Dog 5
Hexagram 28 Da Guo: Excess
Lunar Mansion: The Trio / Gibbon
Solar Indicator: Settle

Tap into the patient, persevering nature of the day. Notice alliances, lower expectations and do some problem solving rather than planning.

"It bodes well to dispose of inessentials (haircuts), edit, fast, study (Classics), take exams, enter retreat and practice meditation. It is good to be industrious close to home (house clean). Initiating business (particularly group enterprise) will be fruitful if planning has been thorough.

"It is inauspicious to push forward aggressively. Do not get married, finalize divorce, bury the dead (it will create family dissent), spend savings or speculate financially as these all lead to losing resources and cooperation."

LM Notes: The Trio
