INDICATORS Listed: Yearly, Monthly, Lunar then Daily
::: ::: ::: = Change
INDICATORS - The pattern components that continuously rotate per year, month, daily, lunar or solar phase. The indicators below articulate the current alignment.
LUNAR YEAR: YEAR of the BOAR
"Charged: plain speaking, caring, sensuous, compromising, eloquent, tolerant, humanitarian, reliable, unselfish, funny, hard-working, lucky and gregarious.
Deplete: self-indulgent, indulgent, oversexed, luxury loving, flamboyant, secretive, long-suffering, gullible and self destructive.
Image: The Chinese character for home includes the character for this Pig. Needless to say in Chinese astrology, Pigs are the most domestic of signs. A modest sacrificial animal since ancient times, it has become a mainstay of the Chinese diet - considered a ‘great transformer,’ able to make garbage into sweet white meat. In parts of China a family’s wealth is measured in the number of Pigs one owns. The wild boar mother is considered one of the fiercest animals alive. The mother boar will attack a Tiger seeking its young without an interest in surviving - the ultimate expression of aggression. Pigs collect material objects and derive great sustenance from them. They see stuff as art/food."
YIN EARTH BOAR (1899, 1959, 2019, 2079) ‘Monastery Pig’
Earth Boars are sensual, lethargic and aimless characters. They are hard to teach and hold very strong opinions. Their previous causes are strong but may support a hardened view of life. Attractive and popular socially they cannot maintain committed relationships (overly protective then cold). Those closest to them often become their worst enemies. Their material fortunes are however good and they live in comfort and luxury. Though they appear healthy they are plagued by chronic dampness."
LUNAR MONTH: YIN WATER ROOSTER (1813, 1873,
1933, 2053) “Nested Rooster”
Water Rooster has a resourceful but
unstable character. Indiscreet, gossipy and, though clever, they lack
the articulate quality of other Roosters. Fond of socializing and traveling
they lack the concentration and sensitivity to maintain friendships and
partnerships until they grow old. Sometimes outright deceptive they also fall
victim to deception quite easily. They consistently overestimate their power
and resent others. They also suffer from chronic minor medical complaints (hypochondria)
that are difficult to diagnose and treat.
QI NODE: 15 White Dew
“Yin Descends
"White Dew qi node shows the
shifting relationship between collapsing yang and ascendant yin. When yin
'descends' it is actually taking charge - yin style. In the morning white dew
is the harbinger of change. The clouds are high in the sky. The growing west
wind is cool. Dew is fresh yin qi - a fragile, glimpse of snow. The growing yin
almost goes unnoticed. As the last of the summer qi subsides, a cool west wind (qi)
appears and the season of autumn begins and develops. Geese migrate south and
fall harvest continues in earnest.
“White Dew is a time of clarity and
stillness. During this period the environment grows ever more yin and is
characterized by a cool, dry wind (metal element). During this qi node the
environmental qi is best at 5pm. Neigong should be done indoors. Do not eat at
all after 7pm.
In the imagination of the poets and
hermits of China it is a time of year when white nymphs are offering inspiration.
Unlike their superiors, the Jade Lads and Ladies, these nymphs inhabit the sea
and forest, not the Celestial realms. White dew, a rare or first form of frost
of the year, is the signal of their presence. They show us white dew to remind
us to prepare for the arrival of the Celestials (yin).”

Treasures
LUNAR HEXAGRAM: 22 Bi: Ornament
"Bi is favorable
when appearances match the inner nature of things. Simplicity, rather than
extravagance, is recommended as the aesthetic of confidence. Beware of the
deception that comes from superficial decoration."
LM Changing: Zhouyi 22 Bi: Ornament

SUNDAY September 15, Yin Wood Rabbit 17
Hexagram 29 Kan: Pit
Lunar Mansion: The Watchers / Cock
Solar Indicator: Destroy
Wood Rabbits are shrewd,
playful and determined characters. It's a great day to pull back, stay home
and cancel what arrives with conflict.
“You are repeatedly
trapped and struggling. You must stoically accept restraint. If you accept that
you are in a sinkhole, find the message in it, and develop patience, things go
well."
LM Changing: Zhouyi 29 Kan
“It is auspicious to stay
home (familiar places / people), study, enter retreat, initiate austerities and
make offerings to the dead. It is wise to postpone everything proactive
(marriage, building, funeral, burials).
“It is not auspicious to
be industrious in any way (building will bring loss). All positive events that
occur today will ultimately have negative results (marriage will end in
disloyalty and divorce). Medical treatments on this day will complicate
existing illness - turn acute into chronic (possibly bring on premature death).
Confrontation or battle on this day will lead to injury or death.”
LM Notes: The Watchers
“The successful prince
as warrior must now lose his youthful ambitions and develop into a proper
king….Today calculated loss (cancellation) succeeds”
LM Notes: Destroy
MONDAY September 16, Yang Fire Dragon 18
Hexagram 4 Meng: Immaturity
Lunar Mansion: The Net / Crow
Solar Indicator: Danger
Today's character resourceful,
lovable and attractive may not be know how to tone it down and go for the
consultation. Let calm radiate into all your actions...
“What is unformed has
great potential but is also lacks clarity - so success, even progress, is
difficult. It is unfavorable for those who are anxious and impulsive. People of
limited capacity may miscalculate their ability to make use of an opportunity.
Read the advice patiently and do not consult the Zhouyi again on this
matter. Meng is often divined when you are obsessed and anxious about
something."
LM Changing: Zhouyi 4 Meng
"To consult a
physician and consult oracles (divination of all kinds) will bring clarity. It
is a good day for industry (labor/gardening = long term wealth), building
(restores clarity) and burying the dead (enhance intuition). It is inauspicious
to take anything for granted. It is inauspicious for revolution, confrontation,
breaking taboos, neglecting responsibilities or travel (someone at home
dies/gets sick)."
LM Notes: The Net
“To roust hypocrisy in
his new alliances the leader must bait his hidden enemies (yin) by showing
vulnerability. This day is a qi expression of true power but all the action is
fraught with danger and risk. The games of political power are also the
precursors of decline. The power plays show yin to be drawing life from the
heart of yang. Success is limited now to a kind of survival. Manipulation and
covert action succeed. Elegance becomes the mask of cleverness and intrigue.
Doing only what needs to be done is best. Old habits or patterns of pressing
forward will invite catastrophe. Beware grudges.”

“Routine work brings
about unexpected results. At the highest level of success is an opportunity to
be extraordinarily generous."

TUESDAY September 17, Yin Fire Snake 19
Hexagram 7 Shi: Army
Lunar Mansion: The Beak / Monkey
Solar Indicator: Complete
"Shi is time for order and cooperation. Agreements
and alliances foster good fortune. When Shi is divined teamwork and
personal discipline can transform danger into success, but losses will
occur.”
LM Changing: Zhouyi 7 Shi
"It bodes well to
follow superiors, practice austerity and/or pool resources with others. It is a
good day to sincerely comply with divination and maintain taboos meticulously.
"It is inauspicious
to push forward, be industrious or initiate new ventures. Revolution or
demanding idealistic justice on this day will be catastrophic."
LM Notes: The Beak
“It is a day for resting
on your laurels. Success is established and secured and the new state seems to
govern itself. Enemies are few. It is a time for inward reflection (yin) on the
bare face of reality (yang). Struggle (yang) is no longer possible or necessary
(yin). Decline is not feared and success not celebrated. Wisdom approaches and
withdrawing succeeds. Art is the demonstration of confidence, dignity and
wisdom - be artful. No more accumulating - decorate with modesty. The way of
perfecting power is austerity and restraint. Do less, have less, show less and
seek nothing. Enjoy what is already manifest.”
LM Notes: Complete
WEDNESDAY September 18, Yang Earth Horse 20
Hexagram 33 Dun: Pig
Lunar Mansion: The Trio / Gibbon
Solar Indicator: Harvest
“There will be modest
gains. Do not be overly concerned about limits and restrictions. Stay put and
you will grow strong. Success is acquired gradually but reward is
inevitable."
LM Changing: Zhouyi 33 Dun
"It bodes well to
dispose of inessentials (haircuts), edit, fast, study (Classics), take exams,
enter retreat and practice meditation. It is good to be industrious close to
home (house clean). Initiating business (particularly group enterprise) will be
fruitful if planning has been thorough.
"It is inauspicious
to push forward aggressively. Do not get married, finalize divorce, bury the
dead (it will create family dissent), spend savings or speculate financially as
these all lead to losing resources and cooperation."
LM Notes: The Trio
“What makes this day
smooth is a sense of fearlessness. It is not so much how it goes (yang) as what
it shows (yin). Rise and fall are no longer the point - the wide view can be
taken. Ease is possible - effortless continuity on all sides. The qi seems to
float us forward quite naturally - ebbing and flowing are both acceptable. The
lessons of earthly life are found in both maturing and declining. Everything
succeeds. Cleverness and survival give way to courage and directness. Be like
the beloved monarch and not an ambitious merchant. Let new resources and
assistants come forward by standing back.”
LM Notes: Harvest
