INDICATORS

YEAR of the FIRE MONKEY 4714
(Native Yang Metal) Imaginative/Clever/Playful
"Charged: curious, capable, funny, adaptable, intelligent, resourceful, innovative, playful, imaginative, responsive and heals fast.

Deplete: manipulative, deceptive, unfocused, cunning, erratic, crafty, frantic, nervous, compulsive, anxious and possibly criminal.

Image: The Monkey talked about in Chinese Astrology is well known to the Chinese peasant as a god. The Tibetan and Zhou people both have fables of a Monkey ancestor. The most famous Monkey in China is the wily Monkey who aids a monk in bringing the Buddhist sutras from India. All the images portray the Monkey as godlike but with the weaknesses commonly associated with humans (desire). This is the perilous balancing act that gives us an understanding of the Monkey character. Poised between the profound and the mundane, Monkeys are capable of a broad awareness of their environment. Nothing is left to convention. For Monkeys the greatest danger is selfish fantasy, the evil sister of visionary wisdom. Monkeys fluctuate between materialism and austerity. Material possessions must not block a Monkey’s need for flexibility.

Fire Monkey (1836, 1896, 1956, 2016, 2076) ‘Mountain Monkey’
Fire Monkey’s are organized, industrious and frank characters. They have strong sexual energy and work on their appearance. They are late to settle down. Their fortunes are good (though their motivation may be inspired by escaping hardship) and they are successful in business. They are particularly capable of avoiding negativity, but they will unfortunately need this skill. Though vigorous they are susceptible to wind disorders and may have coronary problems."

LUNAR MONTH: YIN WATER SNAKE 4
"Water Snakes are cunning, gifted and restless characters. Their seductive qi brings them assistance from people of knowledge and power. Their good fortunes rely upon others (previous causes). Their inner life is secret and they do not reveal their real thoughts or feelings to anyone. They dislike personal commitment and are unlikely to parent children. Natural renunciates, who enjoy the wilderness, their potential for the practice of wisdom traditions is great. They are prone to contagious disease and cold illnesses (pain). They are not easily ‘read’." LM Notes

QI NODE: 8 Grain Sprouts
Yang Expands
"Yang in the Grain Sprouts qi node agrees to leadership through education - yang qi agrees to stay in the channels. Yang matures and takes on a less impulsive quality - it becomes steady in its discipline. The Prince leads his first successful campaign. What were fertile fields now show sprouts. The promise is strong. Trees and shrubs flourish. There is a 'small fullness'. The sages gather herbs from mountains in peace. Some early fruits are harvested.
The qi is best a 10am, get up early and practice neigong in the shade, away from the wind. Several short sessions in the day would be best. Bucket bathes before bed and retire shortly after dark. Working closely with others on big projects is auspicious. Be a part of something big - something that concerns more than your personal comfort and routines."

LUNAR HEXAGRAM 8 Bi: Alliance
Bi is about those who strengthen their power through new and renewed alliances with capable people. It is about the confidence to go forward when trust worthy allies and coherent plans unite. Those who do not use this wisdom (join late) do not succeed.”

THURSDAY May 26, 2016
"Earth Monkey day in a Water Snake moon in a Fire Monkey year (4/20)
Lunar Lodge: The Stride/Wolf
Solar Index: Level
The tools offered by the auspices today provide access to some effective and creative guidelines for managing what is an uncertain process. The expansiveness of our cultural integrity sets into a more stable motion, providing some charming latitudes for narrowing and navigating the unpredictable. There is some promise to the roles we play. Like flexibility within a framework, we have a series of options all pointing to the same goal or direction. Our innovation is an improvement, not a complete creation, but nonetheless feels like a genuine manifestation. Standard magic tricks, done well, are still the best. What might seem conservative in tone here today is simply what is of widest appeal; our matured perseverance is recognized and joined by others who help and mentor. Though we may have some tension or anxiety to our foresight, respect for our stance is extended to us and personal strength is found. There is optimism that comes with an educated vision and confidence blooms into activity.
Today, use our resourcefulness to fortify and strengthen the depth and impact of our routines, enlarging their success, particularly to our loving relations and most trusted allies. No speculation. Plan, save and hunt for what we actually need. Unity and mutual thriving are a potent and sustaining force that gets a boost in momentum today, blossoming sweet feelings. Our integrated mindset, vigilant of resources, has us sensitive to protocols and timings. Rather than being neurotic or simply anti-frivolous, we are taking distinct pleasure in our mindful and skillful engagements to the height of their effect. Make a polite game of reciprocal sensitivity and find a moving meditation in our observance."
