INDICATORS

YEAR of the FIRE MONKEY 4714
(Native Yang Metal) Imaginative/Clever/Playful
"Charged: curious, capable, funny, adaptable, intelligent, resourceful, innovative, playful, imaginative, responsive and heals fast.

Deplete: manipulative, deceptive, unfocused, cunning, erratic, crafty, frantic, nervous, compulsive, anxious and possibly criminal.

Image: The Monkey talked about in Chinese Astrology is well known to the Chinese peasant as a god. The Tibetan and Zhou people both have fables of a Monkey ancestor. The most famous Monkey in China is the wily Monkey who aids a monk in bringing the Buddhist sutras from India. All the images portray the Monkey as godlike but with the weaknesses commonly associated with humans (desire). This is the perilous balancing act that gives us an understanding of the Monkey character. Poised between the profound and the mundane, Monkeys are capable of a broad awareness of their environment. Nothing is left to convention. For Monkeys the greatest danger is selfish fantasy, the evil sister of visionary wisdom. Monkeys fluctuate between materialism and austerity. Material possessions must not block a Monkey’s need for flexibility.

Fire Monkey (1836, 1896, 1956, 2016, 2076) ‘Mountain Monkey’
Fire Monkey’s are organized, industrious and frank characters. They have strong sexual energy and work on their appearance. They are late to settle down. Their fortunes are good (though their motivation may be inspired by escaping hardship) and they are successful in business. They are particularly capable of avoiding negativity, but they will unfortunately need this skill. Though vigorous they are susceptible to wind disorders and may have coronary problems."

LUNAR MONTH: YANG WOOD HORSE
"Wood Horses are impulsive, reclusive and focused characters. Intermittent concentration causes them to miss opportunities and make their fortune uneven. Beneath a shy exterior they are self-assured and supportive but they do not make new friends easily. They are very clever with their hands and will be known for this capacity. They dislike surprises and prefer the simple cause and effect concept. They do not express their feelings at all. Though strong, they suffer from wind disorders and liver qi stagnation (conditions hard to diagnose and treat)."
LM Notes

QI NODE: 8 Grain Sprouts
Yang Expands
"Yang in the Grain Sprouts qi node agrees to leadership through education - yang qi agrees to stay in the channels. Yang matures and takes on a less impulsive quality - it becomes steady in its discipline. The Prince leads his first successful campaign. What were fertile fields now show sprouts. The promise is strong. Trees and shrubs flourish. There is a 'small fullness'. The sages gather herbs from mountains in peace. Some early fruits are harvested.
The qi is best a 10am, get up early and practice neigong in the shade, away from the wind. Several short sessions in the day would be best. Bucket bathes before bed and retire shortly after dark. Working closely with others on big projects is auspicious. Be a part of something big - something that concerns more than your personal comfort and routines."
LM The Way of Three Treasures

LUNAR HEXAGRAM 44 Gou: Meeting
“How does weakness become a great force? Gou represents those who use weakness, disadvantage or triviality to manipulate the powerful and/or steal their power. Such people can cause great humiliation. Seduction, promiscuity, and passive (yin) aggression are not being morally condemned, just shown as a method of manipulating people with power.

"A wise person, with the responsibilities of leadership, does not indulge in the trivial. Resistance to seduction, even if it causes temporary embarrassment, is recommended.”

FRIDAY June 10, Yin Water Pig 6
Hexagram 38 Kui: Incompatible
Lunar Mansion: The Neck / Dragon
Solar Indicator: Maintain

"Unfavorable for planning or forward progress. Expect to be frustrated and make small gains. It is a good time to seek counsel from those with expertise and wisdom."
LM Changing: Zhouyi: 38 Kui

"A willingness to learn and reform will bring good fortune."
LM Notes: The Neck

Have a party, cultivate trustworthy friends and let go of the past. No really, let go :)

LUNAR HEXAGRAM 14 Dayou: Prosperity
“Acquisition leads to loss, if you are not generous. The Zhouyi philosophy of wealth is that it should circulate through honesty, modesty, and cooperation. Prosperity only becomes a great benefit through timely and graceful spending. It is important to manage true and lasting wealth (qi) without being trapped or distracted by the ephemeral value of its material symbols.

MONDAY June 13, Yang Fire Tiger 9
Hexagram 61 Zhongfu: Holding the Center
Lunar Mansion: The Heart/Fox
Solar Indicator: Complete

Calamity is possible today: look to teachers and mentors for guidance. Hold to the center and choose rest when the option is yours.

TUESDAY June 14, Yin Fire Rabbit 10
Hexagram 60 Jie: Juncture
Lunar Mansion: The Tail/Tiger
Solar Indicator: Harvest

Expanding your exposure today is beneficial, and let it be a juncture. Investments, fengshui adjustments, beginnings, conclusions, adjustments, self-cultivation and celebration are appropriate.

WEDNESDAY June 15, Yang Earth Dragon 11
Hexagram 41 Sun: Dimish
Lunar Mansion: The Basket/Leopard
Solar Indicator: Open

The possibility of leadership is tremendous, be sure to let the broad-minded quality of the day celebrate the collaboration of the team. Reuse, recycle, reconsider in order to make room for the fresh offerings to arrive.

THURSDAY June 16, Yin Earth Snake 12
Hexagram 19 Lin: Approach
Lunar Mansion: The Ladle/Griffon
Solar Indicator: Shut

Let caution and grace enhance the shift of power, the transmission, the embarkation of something new today. It's not so much about a struggle for accomplishment, as it is a natural succession that requires honorable presence. Prepare for a weekend of retreat.

LUNAR HEXAGRAM 31 Xian: To Be Moved
“In all situations where slow-growing, inspired feelings are found, things go well. You may act confidently as inspiration takes shape and develops to fruition.

FRIDAY June 17, Yang Metal Horse 13
Hexagram 13 Tong Ren: Community
Lunar Mansion: The Oxboy / Ox
Solar Indicator: Design

Staying close to home and hanging with trustworthy friends and community will help to even out the otherwise negative auspices of the day. Postponement of anything proactive is wise. Consider self-reflection and planning instead.

SATURDAY June 18, Yin Metal Goat 14
Hexagram 49 Ge: Molting
Lunar Mansion: The Maiden / Bat
Solar Indicator: Divide

"It is auspicious to stay home, enjoy the arts, self-reflect, do inner planning and practice austerity (meditation, fasting and rest). It is beneficial to guard your health and conserve your qi. It is favorable to support others. Building may be safe but not profitable. It is not auspicious to take risks, medical treatments, bury the dead. To initiate industry and production on this day invites calamity."
LM Notes: The Maiden
