INDICATORS

YEAR of the FIRE MONKEY 4714
(Native Yang Metal) Imaginative/Clever/Playful
"Charged: curious, capable, funny, adaptable, intelligent, resourceful, innovative, playful, imaginative, responsive and heals fast.

Deplete: manipulative, deceptive, unfocused, cunning, erratic, crafty, frantic, nervous, compulsive, anxious and possibly criminal.

Image: The Monkey talked about in Chinese Astrology is well known to the Chinese peasant as a god. The Tibetan and Zhou people both have fables of a Monkey ancestor. The most famous Monkey in China is the wily Monkey who aids a monk in bringing the Buddhist sutras from India. All the images portray the Monkey as godlike but with the weaknesses commonly associated with humans (desire). This is the perilous balancing act that gives us an understanding of the Monkey character. Poised between the profound and the mundane, Monkeys are capable of a broad awareness of their environment. Nothing is left to convention. For Monkeys the greatest danger is selfish fantasy, the evil sister of visionary wisdom. Monkeys fluctuate between materialism and austerity. Material possessions must not block a Monkey’s need for flexibility.

Fire Monkey (1836, 1896, 1956, 2016, 2076) ‘Mountain Monkey’
Fire Monkey’s are organized, industrious and frank characters. They have strong sexual energy and work on their appearance. They are late to settle down. Their fortunes are good (though their motivation may be inspired by escaping hardship) and they are successful in business. They are particularly capable of avoiding negativity, but they will unfortunately need this skill. Though vigorous they are susceptible to wind disorders and may have coronary problems."

LUNAR MONTH: YIN WATER SNAKE 4
"Water Snakes are cunning, gifted and restless characters. Their seductive qi brings them assistance from people of knowledge and power. Their good fortunes rely upon others (previous causes). Their inner life is secret and they do not reveal their real thoughts or feelings to anyone. They dislike personal commitment and are unlikely to parent children. Natural renunciates, who enjoy the wilderness, their potential for the practice of wisdom traditions is great. They are prone to contagious disease and cold illnesses (pain). They are not easily ‘read’." LM Notes

QI NODE: 8 Grain Sprouts
Yang Expands
"Yang in the Grain Sprouts qi node agrees to leadership through education - yang qi agrees to stay in the channels. Yang matures and takes on a less impulsive quality - it becomes steady in its discipline. The Prince leads his first successful campaign. What were fertile fields now show sprouts. The promise is strong. Trees and shrubs flourish. There is a 'small fullness'. The sages gather herbs from mountains in peace. Some early fruits are harvested.
The qi is best a 10am, get up early and practice neigong in the shade, away from the wind. Several short sessions in the day would be best. Bucket bathes before bed and retire shortly after dark. Working closely with others on big projects is auspicious. Be a part of something big - something that concerns more than your personal comfort and routines."
LM The Way of Three Treasures

LUNAR HEXAGRAM 7 Shi: Army
Shi is a time for order and cooperation. Agreements and alliances foster good fortune. When  Shi is divined teamwork and personal discipline can transform danger into success, but losses will occur.”

FRIDAY June 3, Yang Fire Dragon 28
Hexagram Consult the Oracle
Lunar Mansion: The Ghost / Sheep
Solar Indicator: Shut

Today is ungrounded, that is to say, a day best spent in transitory states and meditation. Take the time to honor your ancestors and consult the oracle for specific advice. Otherwise do your best to relax any notion of progress or negotiation.

SATURDAY June 4, Yin Fire Snake 29
Hexagram 9 Xiao Xu: Minor Force
Lunar Mansion: The Willow / Roebuck
Solar Indicator: Design

Consider today ceremonial. Stepping back, subordination and the composing of memorials bodes well. Practicing divination, funerals and spiritual initiation are auspicious. Pushing ahead on this day is ill-advised.

LUNAR MONTH: YANG WOOD HORSE
"Wood Horses are impulsive, reclusive and focused characters. Intermittent concentration causes them to miss opportunities and make their fortune uneven. Beneath a shy exterior they are self-assured and supportive but they do not make new friends easily. They are very clever with their hands and will be known for this capacity. They dislike surprises and prefer the simple cause and effect concept. They do not express their feelings at all. Though strong, they suffer from wind disorders and liver qi stagnation (conditions hard to diagnose and treat)."
LM Notes

LUNAR HEXAGRAM 44 Gou: Meeting
“How does weakness become a great force? Gou represents those who use weakness, disadvantage or triviality to manipulate the powerful and/or steal their power. Such people can cause great humiliation. Seduction, promiscuity, and passive (yin) aggression are not being morally condemned, just shown as a method of manipulating people with power.

"A wise person, with the responsibilities of leadership, does not indulge in the trivial. Resistance to seduction, even if it causes temporary embarrassment, is recommended.”

SUNDAY June 5, Yang Earth Horse 1
Hexagram 5 Xu: Waiting
Lunar Mansion: The Birdstar / Horse
Solar Indicator: Design

Again, our theme of stepping back continues and will so to some extent for the rest of this Wood Horse month.

"Think powerful, but gentle succeeds... It is auspicious for building and routine work. Good auspice is directly related to continuity, convention and not innovation. It is not auspicious for funerals / burials or marriages. It is a dangerous day for travel and/or medical treatments."
LM Notes: The Birdstar

"Sensitivity to the auspices of the time (when to wait, when to move) provides opportunity to do great things. It is favorable to deliberately delay or wait. Success, in the case of Xu, is a narrow escape from calamity."
LM Changing: Zhouyi: 5 Xu

MONDAY June 6, Yin Earth Goat 2
Hexagram 26 Da Chu: Great Store
Lunar Mansion: The Bow / Deer

Solar Indicator: Divide

Today may truly feel like a Monday. There is a 'ready, go' to the day AND remember, this entire Wood Horse month long, that stepping back is also a practical option.

"It is auspicious to build and buy new property. It is an especially good day to get married. It is favorable for divination, signing contracts, romance / courtship and all forms of partnership. Good auspice is especially related to festive group events, banquesting, family gatherings and/or community celebrations. It is an excellent day to take office. It is not auspicious for funerals / burials. Seclusion or isolation is unfavorable."
LM Notes: The Bow

"Express success through reasonale conservation, generous sharing and celebration of culture and art."
LM Changing: Zhouyi: 26 Da Chu
