INDICATORS

YEAR of the FIRE ROOSTER 4715
(Native Yin Metal) Analytical
"Charged: critical, intelligent, confident, alert, social, dignified, articulate, forthright, spontaneous, inspired, financially adept, challenging, meticulous and tidy.

Deplete: volatile, rude, proud, argumentative, blunt, vulgar, tactless, close-minded, hypochondriac, vain, snobby, aloof, harshly competitive and fanatical.

Image: The Rooster talked about in Chinese Astrology is well known to the Chinese as the ordinary version of the phoenix. This bird is an ancient amulet used to ward off the 5 poisonous creatures (snake, scorpion, spider, centipede and toad). The Rooster (not hen) is sacrificed only at rituals requiring oaths (trustworthy). The most familiar image is, of course, the Rooster lording over hens in the yard and dueling to the death in a cockfight - extrovert extraordinaire. There is the precision of its sharp beak (intellectual), the powerful wings (competitive) and the call to sun at dawn and dusk (eloquence). Basic materials become luxury items when chosen by the Rooster eye. Roosters collect books and documents.

Fire Rooster (1837, 1897, 1957, 2017, 2077) 'Solitary Rooster'
Fire Roosters are skillful, sensual and restless characters. They are excellent craftspeople and have a strong ambition to escape the limitations of poverty and class. They flip-flop from iron self-confidence to hopelessness and back. Though apparently strong willed they collapse in the face of difficulties. Their unapologetic, anti-social attitudes will complicate their relationships and dim their fortunes. Their sexuality is ferocious and embarrassment unknown to them. They often carry the burden of unresolved ancestral (congenital) illnesses and are haunted by the unsettled dead."

LUNAR MONTH: YANG FIRE HORSE 'Traveling Horse'

“FIRE is the native element of the Horse Earthly Branch. Fire Horses are outspoken, quick-tempered and skillful. They are very capable with their hands and articulate in speech. Their restlessness is profound. Working in more than one job suits them. They are very good friends but vindictive enemies. Their fortunes are uneven but will consistently improve as they age. Their relationships are often unconventional, they will marry more than once. They are prone to injury, sudden attacks of acute pain and high fevers.”

QI NODE: 8 Grain Sprouts
Yang Expands
"Yang in the Grain Sprouts qi  node agrees to leadership through education - yang qi agrees to stay in the channels. Yang matures and takes on a less impulsive quality - it becomes steady in its discipline. The Prince leads his first successful campaign. What were fertile fields now show sprouts. The promise is strong. Trees and shrubs flourish. There is a ‘small fullness’ The sages gather herbs from mountains in peace. Some early fruits are harvested."
LM The Way of Three Treasures

44 Gou: Meeting

“Inauspicious for all intimate personal relationships. It is a time to withdraw and cut your losses. Both sexes are at risk to be abused by the inappropriateness of a relationship. Think rot and ruin. A kind of corruption has entered the very foundation of things.”

FRIDAY May 26, Yin Water Ox 1
Hexagram 23 Bo: Erosion
Lunar Mansion: The Mound / Dog
Solar Indicator: Complete

As we step in the Fire Horse month, consider managing your where you can keep busy, constructive and independent. Mind your temper, through caution and routine work.

Today, invite rest, appropriate timing, restraint and modesty. There is also great capacity and strength, so use it wisely.

"It is time to build (thresholds, public buildings) and add on (growth of family: new baby, new bride) to property. It is auspicious to initiate and continue routine business. It is a day for feasting, gatherings and romance. Marriages contracted/performed today produce resourceful and wealthy children. It is an excellent day for assemblies, parties and celebrations.
This day brings fresh breezes in Spring, cooling mist in Summer, light rain in Fall and thin ice in Winter. It is inauspicious to enter retreat, practice renunciation or travel alone. Avoid confrontation."

LM Notes: The Mound

SATURDAY May 27, Yang Wood Tiger 2
Hexagram 8 Bi: Alliance
Lunar Mansion: The Stomach / Pheasant
Solar Indicator: Harvest

Be social, notice alliances around you, and lounge like a Tiger.

"It is auspicious to build, bury the dead (increase status/rank) and marry (your children will hobnob with kings) on this day. It is a good day to make your case, to push forward and to ask for what you are due (collecting receivables). It is a good day for gift giving and charity (canceling debts owed you)."
“Contraindicated activity: It is inauspicious to be confrontational, break the law or squander resources (gamble); such activities will bring years of loss and regret.”

LM Notes: The Stomach

“What makes this day smooth is a sense of fearlessness. It is not so much how it goes (yang) as what it shows (yin). Rise and fall are no longer the point - the wide view can be taken. Ease is possible - effortless continuity on all sides. The qi seems to float us forward quite naturally - ebbing and flowing are both acceptable. The lessons of earthly life are found in both maturing and declining. Everything succeeds. Cleverness and survival give way to courage and directness. Be like the beloved monarch and not an ambitious merchant. Let new resources and assistants come forward by standing back.”

LM Notes: Harvest

SUNDAY May 28, Yin Wood Rabbit 3
Hexagram 20 Guan: Observance
Lunar Mansion: The Watchers / Cock
Solar Indicator: Open

Take a chill pill and relax, with an open heart.

"The situation is delicate and one in which the observance of details and tradition is of great importance. Progress is based on concentration."
LM Changing: Zhouyi 20 Guan

“It is auspicious to stay home (familiar places / people), study, enter retreat, initiate austerities and make offerings to the dead. It is wise to postpone everything proactive (marriage, building, funeral, burials).
“It is not auspicious to be industrious in any way (building will bring loss). All positive events that occur today will ultimately have negative results (marriage will end in disloyalty and divorce). Medical treatments on this day will complicate existing illness - turn acute into chronic (possibly bring on premature death). Confrontation or battle on this day will lead to injury or death.”

LM Notes: The Watchers

MONDAY May 29, Yang Fire Dragon 4
Hexagram Consult the Oracle
Lunar Mansion: The Net / Crow
Solar Indicator: Shut

The capacity of today booms forth, but it's not about you. Engage both with wisdom and relaxing into the flow. Consult the oracle for details.

"To consult a physician and consult oracles (divination of all kinds) will bring clarity. It is a good day for industry (labor/gardening = long term wealth), building (restores clarity) and burying the dead (enhance intuition). It is inauspicious to take anything for granted. It is inauspicious for revolution, confrontation, breaking taboos, neglecting responsibilities or travel (someone at home dies/gets sick)."

LM Notes: The Net

“It is an ideal day for retreat, meditation and severing ties with everything - don’t worry, it’s not the end of anything! Let go anyway - feel the freedom, inaction, disconnectedness, because it offers limited insight.”

LM Notes: Shut
