Chinese Almanac Astrology September 27 - 29, 2015 - 8th FULL MOON

Today, Sunday, is the 8th Full Moon (and mid-autumn festival or moon festival).

Yang is spent, and Yin is now on its march to full maturity which peaks in Winter.
The moon festival is a time to embrace the imminent arrival of supreme Yin. This year on 8/15, we will see the earth cover the moon from the sun as though Yin is being a bit shy and timid. Take a cup of tea, and venture out on the evening of the full moon (Sunday, Sept 27th) and catch the reflection of this shy, yet unknowably strong and resilient Yin (moon) in your cup. Embrace the changing of the guard (yang to yin) in your own experience and drink the moon into your heart, welcoming her.

Ming says,
"In the full 8th moon (the biggest of the year) [medieval Chinese] literati toast (autumn tea or wine) the moon (a goddess) and often spend the night (yin) drifting in open boats on calm lakes (yin) writing poetry, inspired by the moon (yin). On this occasion special 'moon cakes' are also popular (filled with sweet lotus seed paste – to represent the silvery-white moon).'"

Yin Wood Goat

Year: WOOD GOAT 4713
The Wood Goat, a little girl kid, lends a soft grounded context for us this year; Still very new, maturing quickly and playfully, sincere and disciplined. Herd up, slough off what no longer serves your appetite, compost and go fresh.

Lunar Month: WOOD ROOSTER
"Wood Roosters are idealistic, quarrelsome and insightful. For what seems to them to be no reason, family and sometimes friends abandon them. Their outspoken quality is both a blessing (amusing) and a curse (off-putting). Their fortune is uneven. They often receive the ‘debts of the ancestors’, family debts and congenital illnesses. Though they are likely to suffer from chronic minor illnesses or handicaps, they are long lived." LM Notes
Yin Descends

Qi Node: 16 Autumn Equinox
Yin and Yang Equality
"When the qi node Autumn Equinox arrives annual Yin qi is established. Day and night are equal. During this period the environment grows ever more yin and is characterized by a cool, dry wind (metal element). It is one of four annual pivots that rectify the annual qi. Yin and yang are equal - day and night are equal. Storehouses are filling up and the work of harvest is nearly complete. There is a pleasant stillness.
During this qi node qi is best at 6pm. Neigong should be done indoors morning and evening in short sessions. When yin/yang equality is reached and yin is about to take charge, it is best to eat food that has a higher jing/qi concentration. Breakfast can be eaten a little bit later than in spring/summer but is should be hearty. Do not eat at all after 7pm. All meals should be experienced in a quite and undistracted setting. You needn't be a hermit, but avoid being social at every meal." LM The Way of Three Treasures

Lunar Hexagram 22 Bi: Ornament
Bi is about the significance and use of luxury. It is art and ornamentation and the power of elegance. It is how simple design can make a common event (marriage or funeral) into a beautiful ceremony (a place to go). True beauty is, in fact, an articulate expression of inner value. In properly ornamenting even a small thing (event), it is important that its inner value is expressed. The cowrie shell is the symbol of beauty." LChanging: Zhouyi

SUNDAY September 27, Yang Fire Horse 15
Hexagram: 48 Jing: Well
Lunar Lodge: The Birdstar
Solar Indicator: Harvest
"Think powerful but gentle succeeds...Vigorous, lucky, attractive, yet undisciplined and volatile. It is auspicious for building and routine work. Good auspice is directly related to continuity, convention and not innovation. It is not auspicious for funerals/burials or marriages. It is a dangerous day for travel and/or medical treatments." LM Notes: The Birdstar  Keep your hands busy today. "Adaptability to the unevenness (cycles) of nature bring success." LChanging: Zhouyi

MONDAY September 28, Yin Fire Goat 16
Hexagram: 18 Gu: Contamination
Lunar Lodge: The Bow
Solar Indicator: Open
"An open heart gives the option to acquire great wisdom...Look around for a successor (new plan, idea, task) and resume the heart/mind of a novice." LM Notes: Open  Digest what ever comes forward to process. Think compost, regeneration of form, transformation. Their is the capacity today to release what is considered chronic and to recalibrate the story. Open your heart. " Auspicious for medical treatments, building and buying new property. It is an especially good day to get married. It is favorable fro divination, signing contracts, romance/courtship and all forms of partnership. Good auspice is especially related to festive group events, banqueting, family gatherings and/or community celebrations. IT is an excellent day to take office (begin a new job).
"It is not auspicious for funerals/burials. Seclusion or isolation is unfavorable (miss opportunity)." LM Note: The Bow

TUESDAY September 29, Yang Earth Monkey 17
Hexagram: 46 Sheng: Ascending
Lunar Lodge: The Wings
Solar Indicator: Shut
"Since Sheng is about ascending naturally, the auspices stay favorable if you are receptive and subordinate. Steady gradual progress is indicated...Observe and acknowledge the wisdom inherent in the nature of things. One we are accustomed to this gentle, floating feeling, it can take us to a deeper sense of life, beyond the usual dualistic assessments - even beyond the limits of Fate." LChanging: Zhouyi
"Good auspice relies heavily on inclusiveness, follow custom (manners), social convention and guileless loyalty. Good fortune comes through the natural 'chain of command'. Misfortune is directly related to breaking taboos, ignoring family, conventions and/or defaulting on commitments of any kind. Lie still, move slowly and methodically and the snake won't strike." LM Notes: The Wings

I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.
