Chinese Almanac Astrology September 30 - October 3, 2015

Yin Wood Goat

Year: WOOD GOAT 4713
The Wood Goat, a little girl kid, lends a soft grounded context for us this year; Still very new, maturing quickly and playfully, sincere and disciplined. Herd up, slough off what no longer serves your appetite, compost and go fresh.

Lunar Month: WOOD ROOSTER
"Wood Roosters are idealistic, quarrelsome and insightful. For what seems to them to be no reason, family and sometimes friends abandon them. Their outspoken quality is both a blessing (amusing) and a curse (off-putting). Their fortune is uneven. They often receive the ‘debts of the ancestors’, family debts and congenital illnesses. Though they are likely to suffer from chronic minor illnesses or handicaps, they are long lived." LM Notes
Yin Descends

Qi Node: 16 Autumn Equinox
Yin and Yang Equality
"When the qi node Autumn Equinox arrives annual Yin qi is established. Day and night are equal. During this period the environment grows ever more yin and is characterized by a cool, dry wind (metal element). It is one of four annual pivots that rectify the annual qi. Yin and yang are equal - day and night are equal. Storehouses are filling up and the work of harvest is nearly complete. There is a pleasant stillness.
During this qi node qi is best at 6pm. Neigong should be done indoors morning and evening in short sessions. When yin/yang equality is reached and yin is about to take charge, it is best to eat food that has a higher jing/qi concentration. Breakfast can be eaten a little bit later than in spring/summer but is should be hearty. Do not eat at all after 7pm. All meals should be experienced in a quite and undistracted setting. You needn't be a hermit, but avoid being social at every meal." LM The Way of Three Treasures

Lunar Hexagram 22 Bi: Ornament
Bi is about the significance and use of luxury. It is art and ornamentation and the power of elegance. It is how simple design can make a common event (marriage or funeral) into a beautiful ceremony (a place to go). True beauty is, in fact, an articulate expression of inner value. In properly ornamenting even a small thing (event), it is important that its inner value is expressed. The cowrie shell is the symbol of beauty." LChanging: Zhouyi

WEDNESDAY September 30, Yin Earth Rooster 18
Hexagram: 6 Song: Disputing
Lunar Lodge: The Chariot
Solar Indicator: Design
Pauses are highly auspicious today. Nourishing and forming alliances can help build bridges as the water changes course today. Lift off just enough to get out the the way, yet be available to organize, plan, educate, discuss emerging potential. Go for a walk during the day and stretch what you haven't in a while.

Lunar Hexagram 26 Da Chu: Great Store
"Da Chu represents acquisition, accumulation and abundance. The term is associated with the domestication and husbandry of herd animals and the transformation of the untamed wilderness (feudal states/war) into agricultural prosperity (central government/peace). It is the river silt that becomes rich farmland.

"'Eating far from home' means attending a great sacrificial offering made by your clan or a thanksgiving celebration attended by family/friends. 'Crossing the great river' refers to making great and timely progress in worldly affairs." LChanging: Zhouyi

THURSDAY October 1, Yang Metal Dog 19
Hexagram: 47 Kun: Beset
Lunar Lodge: The Horn
Solar Indicator: Divide
Keep the clutch in again this day, tend to the pack, all systems need a little tuning. Sleep, dream, cuddle up and watch a movie. Routine work done thoroughly and well, like sweeping the front door, will welcome opportunity. Engage relationships, communities and the forming of new potential. Engage your own self-cultivation, generosity and open heart.

FRIDAY October 2, Yin Metal Pig 20
Hexagram: 64 Weiji: Not yet accross
Lunar Lodge: The Neck
Solar Indicator: Full
"Expect to be unfulfilled at first and then later satisfied. The old has not quite turned into the new." LChanging: Zhouyi
"This is an optimum day for education, preparation, polishing, gathering resources and firming up plans. Confidence grows as the right time and necessary resources are now part of the vision. The qi is forming patterns and remaining in the channels. Practice and disciplined cultivation bring confidence. The prince (yang) is gaining support. Discipline in small matters succeeds. True confidence requires no aggression. Though nothing needs to be done the natural maturation of strength occurs." LM Notes/Full

SATURDAY October 3, Yang Water Rat 21
Hexagram: 40 Jie: Release
Lunar Lodge: The Root
Solar Indicator: Level
"Nowhere to go means you have no particular goal or purpose because the freedom to choose is new. You can let things come and go, that is, just let them open up by themselves. After every period of restraint there is a release (southwest). Inhibition naturally thaws like ice in spring. Auspices: Favorable for cautious, positive or progressive movement. For the best results keep your actions small and focused - others join you to expand the possibilities." LChanging: Zhouyi  Let things unfold on their own today. There is an emerging flow beneath us all, the roots of our very existence, not unfamiliar to us. Let it guide the boat today while you educate yourself, consult with oracles and physicians, make offerings and generously comply.

I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.
