Year: WOOD GOAT 4713
The Wood Goat, a little girl kid, lends a soft grounded context for us this year; Still very new, maturing quickly and playfully, sincere and disciplined. Herd up, slough off what no longer serves your appetite, compost and go fresh.
Lunar Month: WOOD MONKEY 7
Wood Monkey Month
"Wood Monkeys are versatile, adventurous and ambitious. Hurt by uncaring parents or orphaned in childhood, they tend to live unsettled lives. They often work at more than one job and live in more than one place - and have an untrusting character. Their ambitions can land them in lawsuits or in prison. A strong mentor or partner can release them from some obstructions. Strong in their youth, they decline in old age plagued by sleep disorders, congenital heart disorders and psychosomatic complications. They are prone to madness and depression.
Qi Node: 14 Heat Ends
In the morning white dew is the harbinger of change. The clouds are high in the sky. The growing west wind is cool. Dew is fresh yin qi - a fragile, glimpse of snow. The growing yin almost goes unnoticed. As the last of the summer qi subsides, a cool west wind (qi) appears and the season of autumn begins and develops. Geese migrate south and fall harvest continues in earnest.
White Dew is a time of clarity and stillness. During this period the environment grows ever more yuin and is characterized by a cool, dry wind (metal element). During this qi node the environmental qi is best at 5pm. Neigong should be done indoors. Do not eat at all after 7pm.
In the imagination of the poets and hermits of China it is a time of year when white nymphs are offering inspiration. Unlike their superiors, the Jade Lads and Ladies, these nymphs inhabit the sea and forest, not the Celestial realms. White dew, a rare or first form of frost of the year, is the signal of their presence. They show us white dew to remind us to prepare for the arrival of the Celestials (yin)." LM The Way of the Three Treasures
Knowing when to apply restraint is a very important element in any success. The auspices and patterns of Heaven are found in the mantic study of time (astrology) and place (fengshui). Divining the right juncture of time and place brings natural success. Jie advises us to calculate and interpret the natural rhythm in the ebb and flow of celestial qi as a guide to action." LM Zhouyi
FRIDAY September 11, Yang Metal Tiger 29
Daily Hexagram 36 Mingyi: Pheasant Call
Lunar Lodge - The Oxboy
Solar Indicator - Maintain
Today begins the Lunar pattern of The Oxboy, Maiden and Void. During these three days, it is most auspicious to press in the clutch on "important" activities and progress. Confucius believed in "the notion that the reward for integrity is simply having integrity, not necessarily getting your own way." LM Changing: Zhouyi The indicators are also mixed. Having a relaxed and adaptable attitude, participating in routine work, and responding with integrity, makes success available today. Meditation, retreat, recovery, focus and economizing are productive activities. Tap into the powerful generosity of the Tiger day, group recovery, conservation and small gains. "When integrity demands action, be cautious and prepared to fail. The situation is unfavorable because the clear warnings of doom are being ignored by the powerful." LM Changing: Zhouyi
SATURDAY September 12, Yin Metal Rabbit 30
Daily Hexagram 25 Wu Wang: No Expectations
Lunar Lodge - The Maiden
Solar Indicator - Destroy
There is a dearness to the day, luck even, for those able to relax and let go. "Wisdom takes the shape of recognizing the limits inherent in the cycles of time." LM Notes: Destroy "Relax plans, open up and let go of goals. When Wu Wang is divined, good fortune is based on being free of fear and expectation but ready to act if an easy opportunity arrises. Do not over fucs on goals and gains and you can avoid disaster. Just let things happen naturally." LM Changing: Zhouyi
Lunar Hexagram 20 Guan: Obervance
"The Zhouyi says that a ruler must have Guan, a bird's eye view-contemplative composure, even if the situation is not supportive. Guan describes the proper and improper ways of maintaining tradition through authentic observance, personal deportment and meditation.
Careful observance of one's relationship to the environment (astrogeomancy) provides the education needed to sustain order, indeed, life itself. Dynamic observation of this sort is a full time job, as subtle adjustments to protocol must be made constantly." LM Changing: Zhouyi
SUNDAY September 13, Yang Water Dragon 1
Daily Hexagram 17 Sui: Pursuit
Lunar Lodge - The Void
Solar Indicator - Danger
Withdraw and rest. " An important aspect of successful leadership is knowing when to subordinate and who or what to follow." LM Changing: Zhouyi Take a moment, or all day, to consider your roots, the people and experiences you come from. Simply reflect, without pressing or judging. Let calibration happen by tending to home and family. "Doing only what needs to be done is best." LM Notes: Danger Protect your children. Do not marry, bury the dead or have medical treatments on this day. "Extramarital affairs begun on this day will eventually ruin your family, reputation and health." LM Notes: The Void
I am because we are. May we, together, practice honest self-reflection and open to our collective potential.
Yin Seduces, Metal
"The End of Heat qi node is just that. It is the end of what the Chinese call 'late summer'. In this qu node autumn winds, though still slightly damp, turn slowly drier. Summer's yang is completely exhausted and harvest can begin in earnest.
It is common for the body to feel slightly 'heavy' at this time of year because the fluids and qi are slowing down in anticipation of the Dry and Cold. Harvesting is the main qi pattern. Gather in your resources, plan for the less productive months ahead.
What we harvest now is what we will rely on during the months ahead.
The dreams and aspirations of spring/summer must now be edited with sound and practical strategies.
During this qi node qi is best at 4 pm. Neigong should be practiced in short sessions in morning and afternoon. Afternoon naps are recommended (10 - 25 min). Plan to be at home most evenings. Party's over, time to clean house and tighten up the protocols." LM The Way of the Three Treasures
Qi Node: 15 White Dew
Yin Descends
"White Dew qi node shows the shifting relationship between collapsing yang and ascendant yin. When yin 'descends' it is actually taking charge - yin style. In the morning white dew is the harbinger of change. The clouds are high in the sky. The growing west wind is cool. Dew is fresh yin qi - a fragile, glimpse of snow. The growing yin almost goes unnoticed. Lunar Hexagram 60 Jie: Juncture
"Jie is about the step-by-step progress of human life-represented by the segments of a bamboo plant. Progress that is secured in increments will hold and make a base for future progress. Saved resources provide future prosperity. Thoughtful words change hearts.Knowing when to apply restraint is a very important element in any success. The auspices and patterns of Heaven are found in the mantic study of time (astrology) and place (fengshui). Divining the right juncture of time and place brings natural success. Lunar Month: WOOD ROOSTER
"Wood Roosters are idealistic, quarrelsome and insightful. For what seems to them to be no reason, family and sometimes friends abandon them. Their outspoken quality is both a blessing (amusing) and a curse (off-putting). Their fortune is uneven. They often receive the ‘debts of the ancestors’, family debts and congenital illnesses. Though they are likely to suffer from chronic minor illnesses or handicaps, they are long lived." LM Notes
